Recently, a survey was conducted in the UK regarding the use of time travel in TV series and films, and one of the films in question was the upcoming Star Wars Episode VII. There were 2000 participants in the survey, created by Watchshop, and here are the results:

• Unlike popular cult movies, Star Wars has never featured time travel. Our results show that 47.45% of Sci-Fi fans do not think that it should be added into the storyline of the upcoming Star Wars 7 film. 32.1% said that they ‘don’t know’ and 20.45% thought that it should be added into the storyline

• Almost 10% more males than females would want to see time travel added into the storyline in the upcoming Star Wars 7 film.

You can see the rest of the results which cover popular series a bit more known for their use of time travel – such as Doctor Who, Back to the Future, and Harry Potter – right here.

Time travel is an interesting topic. However (for what it’s worth), it should NOT be integrated into Star Wars. Although, it can be “dealt with” a little … in terms of the Force. I know the novels are not considered canon, but through the Force, Jacen Solo and Luke (I believe) do a bit of time travel using the Force. In a Force trance, that is. I suppose that could be acceptable.
