Rebels Reconnaissance: “Rebel Assault” Review

*Spoiler warning: This review contains spoilers for the Star Wars Rebels episode “Rebel Assault.”

Star Wars Icons: The Imperial Star Destroyer

A Guest Blog by Amy Richau

If you ask a Star Wars fan what their favorite vehicle is the vast majority of people would probably answer the Millennium Falcon. How could you not choose Han Solo’s bucket of bolts that can do the Kessel Run in 12 parsecs even while it’s falling apart in the process? Luke Skywalker’s X-wing fighter or Boba Fett’s Slave 1 ship would surely also get a few votes, but it’s the Imperial Star Destroyer that stole the show in the second teaser for Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens. All of us were under the impression that “Revenge of the Sith” would be the last feature film to be released that centered on the galaxy far, far away. It wasn’t all that long ago that we learned that wasn’t to be the case, and now we have something tangible to which to look forward! 🙂 New characters. New environments. New multi-layered stories. I can’t wait!

I have a fancy for flight. Always have. Or at least for as long as I can remember. Knowing that about me, I hope it comes as no surprise to you why I chose the characters I selected to represent the next two letters of the alphabet in my run through the ABCs of Star Wars. My allegiance leans toward the Rebels … so, again, it should come as no surprise to you that this month I chose three top-notch Rebel pilots to highlight “C” and “D”. They truly are worthy subjects, and I hope you enjoy learning something more about them [than what you might garner from those few seconds they appear on film]. 🙂
