Core Worlds Couture: Her Universe/ThinkGeek Business Casual Collection Review

Core Worlds Couture with Jay Krebs

After a long hiatus, its time to get back into the swing of things with a new edition of Core Worlds Couture! Here you will find Star Wars Fashion and product reviews, as well as crafty tutorials and ideas from a “mature point of view!”

Today, I’ll be reviewing two pieces from Ashley Eckstein’s Her Universe Star Wars business-casual collection. The collection was revealed at San Diego Comic-Con in July, 2017, and is found for purchase on the ThinkGeek website. There are several pieces in the collection, which you can check out here, but the focus today will be on two blouses I recently added to my wardrobe: “Star Wars Symbols Collared Tank Tunic,” and “Star Wars Ships Ladies’ Blouse.

As a teacher, I was really excited to see this line become available. I am proud to be Rogue 7 at Star Wars in the Classroom! I currently have several items from Her Universe that I do wear in my classroom, but these definitely have a leveled-up, polished look to them. Because both of these items are similar in fabric and overall construction, I have organized the review to reflect their similarities, while also shedding some light on each one individually. Let’s take a look at their overall descriptions.

Star Wars in MY Classroom – May the 4th and Beyond!

Jay’s Galactic Espressions

One of my classes of high school students, watching The Force Awakens, in order to prep for their adventure…

Although I proudly represent Star Wars in the Classroom as Rogue 7, I don’t get a lot of opportunities to utilize Star Wars-themed lessons in my daily classroom setting. As a Family and Consumer Sciences teacher at the high school level, I have incorporated a few here-and-there, including Joseph Campbell’s The Hero’s Journey, in some of my lessons. However, this past May the 4th inspired me to take things to the next level!

Emotions will be at all ends of the spectrum when Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits theaters in December!

One month…
One month from today…
One month from today, Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be officially released in theaters across the United States. From IMAX theaters and multiplexes, with stadium seating, premium sound, and perhaps even reserved seating; to charming, historical neighborhood theaters with old-fashioned flat seating, Star Wars will once again be gracing the cinematic stage.

Where will you be seeing this newest addition to the saga? Have you purchased your tickets yet? Will you wait in line outside, eagerly awaiting your turn to enter the theater? Will you need to?

Perhaps more importantly, where will you be sitting, once you’re inside?

Cosplaying for a Cause: Star Wars Reads Day and Beyond!

Jay’s Galactic Espressions

As part of our childhood, many of us can relate to playing dress-up; the feeling of stepping into another persona, and immersing our imaginations in the idea of another world, another life, another story: Perhaps it was Cowboys and Indians, or Cops and Robbers. For me, it was also Laura Ingalls from Little House on the Prairie, Wonder Woman, and Leia from Star Wars.

Rogues Report: Ian Doescher visits Housel Middle School

About a year and a half ago, I found myself with an open spot during Parent-teacher conferences and decided to pass the time by starting to read William Shakespeare’s Star Wars by Ian Doescher.  Being a 6th grade Language Arts teacher and a lifelong fan of STAR WARS, I was immediately drawn to the subject matter and form of the book when it was announced, and after hearing Ian interviewed on COFFEE WITH KENOBI, I decided to purchase a copy for my classroom.
