An action sequence based on Star Wars: The Last Jedi, announced earlier this year for Star Tours at Disneyland and Disney World, is set to make its debut at Disney Parks starting this November. The adventure will put fans in the middle of an epic battle on Crait, a planet first seen in the teaser for The Last Jedi revealed at Star Wars Celebration.
From the Disney Parks Blog:
Last week, in the midst of everything going on at Star Wars Celebration, Disney Parks announced the new destination for its Star Tours attraction. As seen in the new teaser trailer for The Last Jedi, the new location is the mineral planet of Crait, where you’ll find yourself in the middle of an epic battle between the forces of darkness and light.
The news was revealed by Imagineer Tom Fitzgerald and Anthony Daniels (C-3PO) during the Star Wars and Disney Parks: A Galaxy in the Making panel. You can see video of the revelation below. The announcement comes near the end, after a bit of an oral history of Star Tours.
If you are a Star Wars fan (and there’s a pretty good chance you are if you’re reading this) then it’s likely that at some point in your life you have dreamed of venturing into that galaxy far, far away. Perhaps you’ve imagined yourself locking laser swords with Darth Vader or riding shotgun with Han Solo in the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon. Maybe you’ve even pretended you’re really tall and covered in thick brown hair–it’s OK, we don’t judge around here.
While we sadly cannot ever make these fantasies a reality, there are a couple of ways we can come pretty close. One is by attending a Star Wars Celebration. The other method is to visit a Disney park.
I have to admit, this is the quietest and slowest end of May and soon-to-be beginning of June that I have experienced in years. Sure, I’m still working 40+ hours a week, my oldest daughter has more extracurricular activities this year than ever before, and my parents are visiting, but it’s not the same. My weekends are slow and duller than they have been in years past.
As announced at D23 Expo earlier this year, attendees at Disney Parks will soon get the chance to experience Star Wars in a whole new way. Starting December 1, Disney’s Hollywood Studios will make the galaxy far, far away a bit more accessible to fans of the Star Wars saga!

I don’t think I’m the only Star Wars collector that has been aching for a great new line of die-cast. When you consider the Vintage die-cast mini vehicles, Micro Machines, all the way to the Titanium line, we’ve had some pretty good runs in die-cast.
This is it! The day I, as a Star Wars fan and a Florida resident, have been waiting for!
It is week one, day one of Star Wars Weekends 2014!!!
By the time this posts, I will have already been at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in line for several hours to claim an autograph FastPass for Ahmed Best, a.k.a Jar Jar Binks. I love this time of morning cause it gives me time to visit with my friends Robbie and his brother Angelo and to meet other Star Wars fans who are anxiously waiting in line for the opportunity to meet someone who helped bring our favorite saga to life.
