Well, I’m back from Celebration Orlando. A grand time was had by all. Or at least by most. Probably by all. It wasn’t without its hiccups, but what large gathering of 60,000 people isn’t? The short version of my experience is this: It was great to see some friends again after 2 years, and great to meet some new friends for the first time, including my Comics With Kenobi co-host, the illustrious Mr. Matt Moore. There were a few nice surprises, which I’m sure you’ve read about already: Harrison Ford and George Lucas onstage for the 40th Anniversary Panel, John Williams playing Princess Leia’s theme as part of a tribute to Carrie Fisher, and the reveal of the teaser for The Last Jedi, to name just a few. There was one moment that was simultaneously somewhat surprising and not shocking in the least. Read on to find out what it was!
ROGUE ONE’S FELICITY JONES TO APPEAR AT STAR WARS CELEBRATION IN ORLANDO
THE FAN-FAVORITE ACTRESS WILL SIGN AT THE STAR WARS CELEBRATION AUTOGRAPH HALL!
Don’t tell the Empire — the galaxy’s newest rebel is coming to Star Wars Celebration. Felicity Jones, who starred as Jyn Erso in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, will sign at the Star Wars Celebration Autograph Hall in Orlando this April, The Topps Company and Authenticators, Inc. announced today.
In Epiblog 3 of my ongoing Star Wars Celebration VII Anaheim experience, we come to…well, more lines. Last month I wrote about the line experience just for day one. This month’s blog will cover the next two days of the convention. It was all about the autographs! This was the first time in all my con years that I pre-purchased autographs. Little did I know just how much time it would take to accomplish. Little did I also know how great it is to meet the stars that are a big part of the movies you love.
There is always something magical about Disney. No matter what your age is, when ever you drive through the gates, the excitement begins to build, and once you enter the parks, your inner child burst forth and you can’t stop grinning and just being there is fun.
Or so you thought….until you go to Hollywood Studios for Star Wars Weekends. That’s right folks, it’s the magic of Disney with all the added spice of the saga we all love. And what happens when you cross the two???? Heaven. Simply heaven.
Coffee With Kenobi Special Correspondent Aaron Harris brings us the full audio from Week One of Star Wars Weekends! Week one features James Arnold Taylor’s interview with Tiya Sircar, followed by a conversation with Amy Allen (Aayla Secura) and Ian McDiarmid (Emperor Palpatine). Live from Star Wars Weekends, this is the podcast you’re looking for!
Celebration is over.
I was unable to go this year but through StarWars.com’s live stream and all the great coverage from Dan, Cory, and my fellow bloggers here, I definitely felt like I was there. So I want to take this quick moment to thank my CWK family as well as everyone at StarWars.com who ran the live stream for all of their coverage! It was definitely the next best thing to being there in person!
With that said, let us turn our eyes to Star Wars next big event: Star Wars Weekends 2015!
We are just weeks away from opening weekend and this promises to be an incredible year! With an impressive guest list covering the movies to Rebels and The Clone Wars; I know my schedule will be busy for sure. With special guests like Ian McDiarmid and Frank Oz in the mix as well, we are looking at a couple of record-setting weekends when it comes to attendance like we had last year with Mark Hamill.
