When we last saw Kylo Ren in Star Wars: The Force Awakens he had just killed his father, Han Solo, wounded Finn, and battled nearly to the death with The Scavenger, Rey. What can we expect from his path in The Last Jedi? Director Rian Johnson shared his thoughts in the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly.
Good Morning America has had a busy Twitter account today as they’ve released a plethora of clips with the cast of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, as well as director Rian Johnson. The interviews were conducted as Star Wars fever was sweeping the D23 Expo yesterday, and we’ve collected them into one spot for your viewing pleasure. They’re not long, but they are worth watching, particularly the clips with Rian Johnson.
Good Morning America‘s Twitter account posted this incredible photo of the cast of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, along with Disney CEO, Bob Iger. So much incredible Star Wars-related news has been released at D23 in the last few days, no doubt our heads are swimming. Imagine being at the center of it all, yet still managing to look so relaxed. How do they do it?
Yesterday we saw the four new limited-edition Vanity Fair covers for Star Wars: The Last Jedi. They promised us even more images today and have delivered in a massive way! Not just the new images, though, but new character and city reveals as well.
With the new images released today, all captured by the great Annie Leibovitz, we get a closer look at the characters we already love — Luke, Rey, Leia, Kylo Ren, Poe, Finn, and more — but we also get our first look at new characters such as Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo, played by Laura Dern, and a shady grifter-type character called “DJ,” played by Benicio Del Toro.

Jay’s Galactic Espressions
On my 46th birthday (July 16), I was reduced to my 10-year-old self. I laughed, jumped for joy, squeed more than a few times, and quite literally performed at least one happy dance. My eyes were a little brighter, and my steps a little lighter. All because of Star Wars.
And that’s a good thing…a VERY good thing!
When it comes to Star Wars, I’m a big kid at heart anyway, as I’m most (or all) of you reading this right now can relate. Overall, it’s a great time to be a Star Wars fan, but with all of the news that came out of Star Wars Celebration Europe (SWCE) over the last few days, my kid-o-meter has flown off the charts!
It has been one week, but the Rogue One: A Star Wars Story panel is now available to watch online (minus a certain spoiler). Gwendoline Christie handled her hosting duties with charm and humor, and the cast of Rogue One seemed to enjoy their first big moment in the spotlight — especially Ben Mendelsohn! If you haven’t seen the panel yet, you’re in for a treat. Enjoy!
CELEBRATION EUROPE: DAY ONE — A Guest Blog by Walt Fishon
Unlike previous years, where people queued up an hour or so ahead of a panel and were seated on a first-come, first-served basis, access to Celebration Stage events is now based on receiving a colored bracelet handed out at 6 a.m. the day of the event. That meant waking up early and getting in line for an event that didn’t take place for at least 12 hours. People were permitted to line up at 8 p.m. the previous night, but papa needs sleep, so waking up at the crack of dawn – yes, there is some light at 4:15 a.m. in London – was the next best thing.
Star Wars Celebration Europe is in full swing! Did you catch any of the live streaming today? The Rogue One panel — wonderfully hosted by Captain Phasma herself, Gwendoline Christie — has just wrapped. Brought to the stage were Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy, director Gareth Edwards, executive producer John Knoll, and Kiri Hart of the Lucasfilm Story Group. (When the full panel is released online, we’ll be sure to post in case you missed it.)
That wasn’t the extent of it, though!
