Jay’s Galactic Espressions
Now that I have the attention of the Star Wars shippers out there…!
August, 2017 marked the nine-year anniversary of the theatrical premiere of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. On March 11, 2013, it was announced that Lucasfilm would be cancelling the beloved television series. Anyone who knows me well, knows that I wept at that announcement, and went through the entire grief process, trying to come to terms with the loss. I pined for the characters, the stories, and just the idea of being able to look forward to each passing week, so I could fill the Star Wars need in my life. I listened to the beautifully compelling musical works of Kevin Kiner, reliving the emotional journey of some of the characters and pivotal scenes.
Dan Z is joined by IndyCast host, Ed Dolista and the Sandcrawler podcast co-host, as well as a writer for CWK & Retrozapped, Mike MacDonald. They begin the show with reviews of the latest from Chronicle and Disney Publishing, as well as Forces of Destiny episodes. Nick DiCo has Star Wars video game updates, and Tom gives the news. For the Coffee Chat, they take a detailed look at Dave Filoni’s sketch of Ahsoka Tano’s encounter with the Bendu. They close out the show with email. This the podcast you’re looking for!

It was announced today during the Star Wars Rebels panel that season four will be the last. Before that, however, it was also revealed that Star Wars legend Warwick Davis will be joining the cast as Ruhk, a character first introduced in Timothy Zahn’s Heir to the Empire as Grand Admiral Thrawn’s personal bodyguard. Returning characters include Saw Gerrera (Forest Whitaker) and Mon Mothma (Genevieve O’Reilly). So, while the series will be coming to an end, Dave Filoni promised a season we won’t soon forget. He also brought along the trailer for season four! You can check it out below:
As I sit down to write this, there are only 25 days left until Star Wars Celebration Orlando! My, how time flies. It feels like just yesterday we were getting the news on starwars.com that the next celebration would be in Orlando – once again, I’m overwhelmed with a whirlwind of emotions. No worries, at this point I’m a veteran of Star Wars Celebrations as this one will mark my fourth Force-tastic adventure of being immersed in the galaxy far, far away. In other words, all is right in the world.
And so, in light of Star Wars Celebration, I thought it would be fitting to share some of my past celebration experiences with all of you. Hopefully you’ll find some joy in my personal stories and maybe you’ll even learn something about me you didn’t already know. Ready. Set. Go!
