Star Wars: The Force Awakens, John Boyega Win at the BAFTAs

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) awards were handed out on Sunday, February 14, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens won in two categories: Special Visual Effects and the Rising Star Award (voted for by the public), which was awarded to John Boyega.

Other nominees in the Special Visual Effects category included Ex Machina, Ant-Man, Mad Max: Fury Road, and The Martian. John Boyega beat out competitors Brie Larson, Dakota Johnson, Bel Powley, and Taron Egerton.
