The traveling exhibit, “Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination,” is nearing the end of its eight year run. The exhibit – which features props, costumes, and models from all six Star Wars movies – has been seen by fans in 19 cities across the United States, and its final journey has taken it to George Lucas’ backyard.

The exhibit will be on display starting on October 19, 2013 at The Tech Museum of Innovation in San Jose, CA through February 23, 2014. After that, the treasured artifacts will return home to the Skywalker Properties archives. If all goes well with Lucas’ plans for the proposed “Lucas Cultural Arts Museum,” the items will find a new and more permanent home.

If you’re in the area, you can plan your visit to the exhibit right here.

First of all — GREAT PHOTO, Lisa!!! 🙂 We were there together … with Dan, too! … and even though many of us went our own ways once we got into the exhibit (there was a pretty good sized group of us!), I really felt we were together. It certainly was fun to share (excitedly 🙂 ) — once we got back together — everything we had seen, what was each of our favorite displays, just the magic of being there. It made a wonderful memory. I’m glad we got to share it. 🙂
Second, if anyone has not seen the exhibit, and has a chance to make it to San Jose, I say: “Go!” It will be well worth the trip. Make a mini vacation out of it!

I was lucky enough to see the exhibit twice – first with you guys (it was around my birthday, too!), and then with my sister and her kids right before it closed. Loved it both times!
