NEWARK, N.J. – Audible Inc., the world’s largest seller and producer of downloadable audiobooks and other spoken word entertainment, hosted a Twitter discussion on the evening of December 19th, using information from The Legends of Luke Skywalker, Leia: Princess of Alderaan and Phasma to answer some of the most pressing questions fans have after watching The Last Jedi. Excerpts from the conversation below.
#1: We might not have seen the last of Phasma…
Audible (@audible_com): This isn’t Phasma’s 1st dance with death. Does she survive? Would her history as an aboriginal living on cliffs help her survive such a fall? #AudibleStarWars
Jennifer Heddle (@jenheddle): The film made a big point of gunfire bouncing off her armor so methinks it might be fireproof too. And we know she has mad survival skills. So it’s possible! #audiblestarwars #thelastjedispoilers
Matt Martin (@missingwords): You know, I think she could have survived the fall under normal circumstances but that was a really big explosion… #audiblestarwars
Geek Girl Diva (@geekgirldiva): Well, as @DelilahSDawson reminded us, Phasma’s armor is made from the plating of Palpatine’s Naboo yacht after Brendol Hux crashed it on Parnassos. If anything could withstand fire, I’d think ship plating could… #audiblestarwars
Jennifer Heddle (@jenheddle): Her armor is indeed made from Palpatine’s yacht, so presumably that material would be able to withstand a lot! #audiblestarwars
#2: …and Finn got really lucky
Audible (@audible_com): Would Finn had stood a chance in a straight fight with Phasma, unaided by her distracted attention? #AudibleStarWars
Matt Martin (@missingwords): Finn’s had basic melee training from his time as a trooper and he managed to hold his own against Kylo in a lightsaber fight (for a bit). But I think in the end, Phasma would have beat him. #AudibleStarWars
Jennifer Heddle (jenheddle): It’s hard to say for sure but I think it’s unlikely. Mainly because Phasma is not afraid to fight dirty and is cunning enough to do so. #audiblestarwars
Geek Girl Diva (@geekgirldiva): I’m gonna say no. I think she would have shish-kabob’d him in the end 😉 #audiblestarwars
#3: Luke: more than Jedi
Audible (@audible_com) How has Luke’s encounters with other Force-sensitive groups – from Mist-Weavers to those that follow the “Tide” – affected his view of the Force and how to wield it? Did he transcend the Jedi?
Jennifer Heddle (@jenheddle): I think the Luke we see in #TheLastJedi definitely has a perspective on the Force that goes beyond the Jedi, particularly in how the Force is used. But was he able to transcend that? In the end, maybe. #audiblestarwars# thelastjedispoilers
Matt Martin (@missingwords): These journeys definitely allowed him to expand his perspective on the Force beyond the strict Jedi dogma, which we see in play in #TheLastJedi. Did he transcend the Jedi though? I’m not sure. #AudibleStarWars
