IDW Star Wars Comics Review: Star Wars Adventures #4

This review of Star Wars Adventures #4 contains minor spoilers.

Star Wars Adventures is leaping, seamlessly, between eras in the Star Wars Saga.

Issue #4 is no exception as writer Landry Q. Walker, artist Eric Jones, colorist Charlie Kirchoff and letterers Tom B. Long and Christa Miesner take readers along for an adventure with Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia in “The Trouble at Tibrin.”

In fact, we dug it. Had a good story beats and it entertained not just us, but the Young Padawans, too.

Same goes for the backup feature by Ben Acker and Ben Blacker, “Mattis Takes a Stand,” a deft take on how to stand up to bullying without falling afoul of the same causes that created the situation to start with. The story, part of the regular Tales From Wild Space second story, is drawn by Annie Wu, colored by Lee Loughbridge and lettered by Long.

Heartily recommend this issue.

Star Wars Adventures #4 is in comic shops now, selling for $3.99, and on Comixology.

(For more detail and discussion, listen to the Comics With Kenobi: Young Padawans Edition later in December.)
