George Lucas and Mellody Hobson Break Ground on Lucas Museum of Narrative Art [Video]

Yesterday, George Lucas was finally able to break ground on his long-awaited dream project, the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art. CBS This Morning interviewed Lucas and his wife, Mellody Hobson, about the long and at times very bumpy road (looking at you, San Francisco and Chicago) leading up to this point.

The newest saga from legendary filmmaker George Lucas is a departure from his classic film franchise. Lucas broke ground on a new museum in Los Angeles with his wife, Mellody Hobson. It’s the future home of the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art. When the museum is finished in three years, it will house much of their art collection of around 10,000 pieces. John Blackstone spoke with them at their Skywalker Ranch.

And from the Associated Press:

“Star Wars” creator George Lucas helped break ground on a billion-dollar museum in Los Angeles dedicated to the art of visual storytelling. Construction of the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art is expected to be completed by the end of 2021.
