Coffee With Kenobi co-host Dan Z has a new installment of his ongoing series Studying Skywalkers available on the official Star Wars blog. This time around, Dan examines identity in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. For part one of this series, the focus is on Finn.

Read an excerpt below:

The Force Awakens focuses on three major new characters, Finn, Rey, and Kylo Ren. Each of these respective characters must decide who they want to be, and this inner journey is shaped through many illuminating moments that create a sense of identity for these new and compelling characters. These three, distinct character arcs create degrees of captivating internal conflict that move us to look further into the mythology of Star Wars and allow us to witness each individual as they explore the question asked by Maz Kanata in the trailer for The Force Awakens: “Who are you?”

You can read the rest of this entry on StarWars.com.

Speaking of Dan, he also has a new ongoing series right here on CWK! In Coffee and The Clone Wars, Mr. Z will be revisiting Star Wars: The Clone Wars in chronological order while examining the themes, characters, and overall impact on the world of Star Wars.

You can read part one, “Cat and Mouse,” right here.

What a fun read, Dan! I always enjoy your musings in your “Studying Skywalkers” blog over at starwars.com, and this time was no exception. 🙂

Finn is one of my favorite “new” characters in the Star Wars universe, and I agree with everything you had to say about the former Stormtrooper. He is going to be an interesting character to watch over the course of this newest trilogy. Thank you for sharing your always intriguing thoughts with us. 🙂

    MTFBWY 🙂
