The circle is complete!!!!! At least the New Jedi Order is complete. Luke and Randy close out the final chapter of the NJO this month. The Final Prophecy and The Unifying Force are the focus this episode, bringing the over 20 book series to an end. Jacen, Luke, and Zonama Sekot take on the last of the Yuuzhan Vong on Coruscant. In what seemed to be an endless battle only the “unifying force” could make the difference. They also announce the winner of this year’s Legends Library Card. Congrats to Colemandowraith, this years winner! Next book…….Death Star.
The penultimate New Jedi Order episode!! With only two more sections of the NJO left, Luke and Randy take on The Force Heretic Trilogy, written by Sean Williams and Shane Dix. They also bring discussion of Truce at Bakura and Rogue Planet into the mix as it relates to this trilogy.
Randy and Luke are making serious progress through the longest book series in the Legends timeline, The New Jedi Order. They have found their favorite!! Traitor penned by Matthew Stover! Stover breaks all the rules in the best kinds of ways with this book. They also discuss Destiny’s Way written by Walter Jon Williams. Traitor contains the story of Jason Solo’s Yuuhzan Vong captivity and the very intense teaching from Vergere. Meanwhile, the fight against the Vong continues across the galaxy in Destiny’s Way. By the end of this episode, we learn the true motivation of Vergere who has become one of the most intriguing characters in Star Wars Legends!
The guys at Legends Library are back! This month they discuss Dark Journey by Elaine Cunningham and the Enemy Lines Duology (Part 1: Rebel Dream: Enemy Lines & Part 2: Rebel Stand: Enemy Lines) by Aaron Allston. Randy shares his thoughts on the young Jedi Knights carrying the weight of this section of the storyline and Luke talks about the impact Wedge still has in the battle against the Yuuzhan Vong. They also take some time to make fun of the villain of the week, Lord Nyax. It’s all faster and more intense. We have turned the corner and are starting our stretch run toward the end of this colossal series.
The New Jedi Order book series has experienced a love-hate relationship with fandom over the years. But that is not going to keep Randy and Luke from tackling the largest series of books in the Legends timeline. This month they kick it all off with the first three books of the series, written by R.A. Salvatore and and duology written by Michael Stackpole.
